Managing graphic designer for Paperbark Literary Magazine
OBJECTIVE
Responsible for managing a team of graphic designers for Paperbark Literary Magazine. We created a 150 page magazine that explored the cross sections of science and art. Acted as a liaison between curators, authors and artists of accepted work in the book, and my team. Responsible for standardization and delegation of all work along with being a contributing designer.

AUDIENCE INSIGHTS
There were several “clients” considered:
Consumers purchasing and reading our magazine across the country
Artists/authors of our selected submissions that must have their work’s intentions accurately depicted
Curators must be happy with the finished product
The printer. The printed material must translate exactly as it presents on screen into print.
♠
RESULTS
Created a beautiful magazine that let the submissions shine through thoughtful design decisions. Collaborated with my team through tedious standardization practices that optimized our printing results and cohesiveness across every page. Our eloquent and seamless standardization allowed for creative expression from my designers in the places that mattered.

PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT
I gained extensive knowledge of print media and how to build out a magazine. I had the opportunity to go into stores and see my work on shelves. However, the most invaluable thing I learned was how to manage a team and satisfy multiple objectives. I learned how to balance creative encouragement and simultaneous team alignment. I facilitated creative sessions for my teammates and experienced the gratification of leadership.
