Marketing intern for an Insurtech startup, Tarmika

OBJECTIVE

Further develop the visual identity of the Tarmika brand in a way that resonates with both the insurance and technology sectors. Help build out a creative asset library that allows for easy creation and flexibility in social media graphics, promotional materials, or other peripherals for the company.

AUDIENCE INSIGHTS

Visuals and copy need to appeal to both technology and insurance industries equally. I found that strong engagement was generated from intelligent copy partnered with intriguing visuals.

RESULTS

I expanded Tarmika’s brand guide to include original designs and illustrations. I created an asset library for the team that utilized character “building blocks” to continue the cohesive brand identity built. I helped to bridge the promotional gap between the two client industries through illustration, allowing Tarmika to level with either industry without alienating the other.

PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT

Learned how to further creative development within a brand and appropriately expand on an existing brand guide. Gained insight into B2B marketing and I found success with bridging two different target audiences in a genuine, thoughtful way. I taught myself about JSON animation files and expanded my knowledge of Adobe After Effects. I learned how to integrate those animations into the WordPress website to illustrate Tarmika’s product in a visual, consumer friendly way.

SELECTION OF WORK FROM MY TIME WITH TARMIKA

  • Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe XD, After Effects

  • Animation designs for website, blog covers, development of character designs, and unique expansions to existing brand standards
